Be
possessed of the patience and stability to keep on moving
in the directions of your dreams.
In
1991, with the help of some wonderful farm boys, car mechanics and
body shop guys, I was able to use my first torch. I designed, cut
out, exhibited and sold my first ever ‘Deva’. I was instantly
in love with the medium of recycled steel. I found absolute beauty
in rusty patinas and old car springs.
I
began my journey on the same course as most every other artist I know-I
worked a full time pantyhose job, managed my home and family (4 awesome
sons) and made art in every other available moment.
In
1996, I formally opened my studio, selling wholesale, attending art
and garden sales regionally and employing magical and creative help
to assist me.
Garden
Deva studio has evolved into a space for me to create and assemble
my work from small Devas that are offered through this website to large
gates, fences and furnitures. We also house other artists in the iron
working fields of welding and blacksmithing.
